Communication for children with additional needs can be challenging for a variety of reasons.
Whether your young person is non-verbal, hard of hearing or struggles with pronunciation. Alternative communication methods can provide your young person with a sense of confidence, ease frustration from being misunderstood and can be a fantastic bonding experience as a family.
We use different communication methods including PECS (Picture enhanced communication). SSE (Sign Supported English) and BSL (British Sign Language). We will work with you to explore which methods will work best for your young person, provide resources and support you to implement these techniques at home.
